Position Summary: The Systems Engineer at Barnhart will be responsible for maintaining and managing the infrastructure and operations of the IT data center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide resolution to IT incidents
- Provide technical migrations
- Support Information Security and data privacy best practices
- Install, configure and maintain infrastructure for server, storage and network devices
- Key contributor in disaster recovery through planning, testing and execution.
- Develop and maintain documentation of software versions, physical infrastructure, cabling layouts and rack configurations.
- Commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement of the data center environment and all of IT.
- Work with project managers to plan resources and set up timelines for projects
- Develop and execute against project plans to implement software and hardware installation and upgrade projects.
Skills and Requirements:

- Understanding of ITIL best practices
- Strong knowledge of and experience supporting VMware, Linux, Windows and centralized storage concepts.
- Experience in proactive monitoring of physical and virtualization as well as capacity planning.
- Experience with Network Administration, Security best practices and troubleshooting
- Designing and implementing: Systems and tools, including hardware and software
- Experience installing, maintaining and upgrading Operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Experience managing backup and recovery
- Strong knowledge of and experience supporting Information Security and data privacy best practices
- Experience planning and implementing system automation for efficiency
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5+ years experience supporting production environment and building and deploying both physical and cloud infrastructures.
