Job Summary – The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for the completion of design of utility-scale PV solar projects. He/she will manage third party engineers as they develop the civil, structural, PV electrical, high voltage, energy storage, & SCADA designs from time of project award throughout construction, ensuring all technical requirements, budget, and schedule expectations are met or exceeded. He/she will serve as the technical point of contact for the internal team as well as the project Owner and any subcontractors/suppliers. He/she will coordinate heavily with procurement and project teams to support buy-out and resolve engineering-related issues throughout construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as overall technical lead on the project answering technical questions, resolving engineering-related issues, and driving design completion. (full-Commitment)
  • Coordinate between all engineering disciplines ensuring a cohesive overall design that meets technical requirements, budget, and schedule. (high-Character) 
  • Review and comment on all engineering-related documents including plan sets, shop drawings, equipment specifications, and studies. (true-Craftsmanship) 
  • Ensure third-party engineering partners understand and design according to (or improve upon) the internal conceptual drawings, assumptions, and takeoffs on which the budget was based at time of project award. (true-Craftsmanship) 
  • Lead weekly update calls with engineering partners and Owner and manage all engineering related documentation and communication (i.e. RFIs, submittals, transmittals, meeting agendas / notes, etc.). (full-Commitment) 
  • Coordinate closely with internal procurement team to ensure timely material buyout and with operations team to ensure constructability of design. (one-Community)

Qualifications:

  • (3) years or more experience as a project or design engineer, preferably in utility scale PV projects
  • Provided engineering and construction support for at least (5) different utility scale PV projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
